Director of Operations sought

Title: Director of Operations Organization: Armed Forces Foundation Location: North Carolina Ave., SE Reporting to: President & Executive Director The Armed Forces Foundation (AFF) is non-profit organization dedicated to providing comfort and solace to members of the military community through financial support, career counseling, housing assistance and recreational therapy programs. We are looking for a Director of Operations to manage a small staff and provide logistical direction to the Foundation’s Moral & Welfare Programs. While you will report into the President & Executive Director, you will be tasked with the daily operations of the AFF and will be expected to ensure its programs run smoothly and efficiently. This is a perfect job for someone who believes in giving back to our military and their families. Tasks may include:  Evaluate the effectiveness of all programs and events  Create and maintain contacts with military bases, veterans organizations, volunteer groups, sponsors, and governmental organizations  Oversee the public affairs, development, and financial processing for the organization  Attendance at AFF events outside of normal business hours is required  Delegate tasks as necessary Benefits:  Competitive Salary  Medical & Dental Coverage  Monthly cell phone payments and travel stipend  Opportunity to earn commission on fundraising efforts  Potential discretionary bonuses based on performance  Small office environment where you are given ownership of your tasks Key Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, History, Communications (or similar)  Management experience and Capitol Hill experience preferred  Preference will be given to Veterans The Foundation is looking for a candidate with a stable work history and the proven ability to manage staff effectively.
