Each year the USMCCCA negotiates with a select number of hotels to obtain the best possible price for conducting its annual conference. There are several considerations: One, does the hotel adhere to the military per diem rate for that city and, two, is the per diem rate fair to non-active duty members, including retirees. MSgt. Richard “Dick” Brumfield passed away on 17 Sept. 2011. Dick was a veteran USMC photographer who had served in “many a clime and place”. After retirement Dick, among other things, helped film a video for ASK, a portrayal for kids dying of cancer. This year the video will be dedicated to “Brum”. Services were in Warsaw, Virginia and the family has asked that donations be made to ASK in “Brum’s” name.
