Dysart: Vietnam Vet passes
Long-time <a href="http://www.funeralquestions.com/obits/carmon/memorial.asp?listing_id=170559">CC Mark J. Dysart</a>, 57, Windsor, CT died Sunday, April 24. He grew up in a military family that took him all over the world, and he later served during the Vietnam War. During his years with the Marine Corps, Mark was Editor in Chief the first year the Quantico Sentry won the Thomas Jefferson Award.

Author Jack Pulwers dies
Longtime CC supporter, Jack Pulwers , Ph.D. of Fairfax, VA died March 29, 2011 at Fair Oaks Hospital of extended illness after congestive heart failure. Born in New York City on July 2, 1924, Jack was raised there and in Shreveport, Louisiana. He received double degrees from Louisiana State University and a Ph.D. with distinction from Catholic University. He was a distinguished historian, journalist and author. Former MCB PA Chief Kearns dies
Life Member Jacki Huneycutt , PA, Camp Lejeune has reported that retired MGySgt. Terence Kearns , 59, Reno, NV passed away Friday, January 7. A 27 year veteran, Kearns served as MCB Public Affairs Chief until his retirement in the late 1990s. He was also a veteran of Beirut and Somalia. He is survived by his wife Dawn, son Patrick, daughter Shannon and stepsons Jonathan and Hershel Smith. Services were held January 21 at the Fernley Veterans Cemetery, Fernley, NV.

Schlossenberg: Oldest CC passes
Irving Schlossenberg was born March 19, 1918 in Baltimore and lived in Overland Park, Kan., where he passed away. He served as a Marine combat correspondent during World War II from 1942 to 1945, during which he served in five pacific campaigns, including four first-wave landings. He was the oldest living combat correspondent at the time of his death.

Zurick: Honorary Life member dies
During WWII Andrew served with the Marines in the Pacific, where he met Pat, who was serving in the Navy. A resident of Arizona since 1974, Andrew previously served on the Chicago Ridge, Illinois Board of Trustees. A service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, on February 16th.

Famed press officer in Vietnam war, dies at 90
CC Steve Stibbens reports: "It is with great sadness I have learned that our friend died in Washington Thursday December 30th in Sibley Memorial Hospital. Greg Zorthian, Barry's son, an editor at the Financial Times in New York said this morning that both he and brother Steve, also of New York, were with Barry when he passed away. Fabbri: Combat Cameraman dies in Combat Operation
Lance Cpl. Ralph J. Fabbri,of Gallitzin, Pennsylvania died at age 20 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan according to the Department of Defense. He was assigned to the Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. He is a 2008 graduate of Penn Cambria High School where he was an art honors student. He was outgoing, artistic as well as an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mescall: Life Member passed away
Life Member Richard F. Mescall, Jr., 67, passed away suddenly at his home in Fallbrook, Calif., July 11, 2010. He was born in Long Beach, but was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dick joined the Marine Corps one month after high school graduation in 1960. He served for 21 years, retiring as a Master Gunnery Sgt. (E-9).

Schultze: life member and supporter passes
Ed Schultze, 88, of LaMesa, CA. was a Life Member of the Association and one of its strongest supporters. A veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, was one of the few members of our field to rise to and hold the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He retired after 29 years of distinguished service. He was preceded in death by his wife Ellie who he proposed to in Grand Central Station, New York.

Fields: Col Tom Fields passes after a long illness
Upon graduation in 1942, Fields entered the Marine Corps officer training school and was soon in actual combat in a parachute battalion. He was in the last stages of combat on Guadalcanal before seeing combat at Vella Lavella and Bouganville. After Bouganville his parachute battalion was split up and Fields became a rifle company commander.

James entered the US Marine Corps, proudly serving for 30 years. He began his career in the Marines as enlisted personal, but was able to obtain the officer's rank of Major through hard work, dedication and sacrifice. Retired Marine Colonel John Grider Miller , selected as this year’s recipient of the Brig. Gen. Robert L. Funk: Long-time member John Funk dies
John was a decorated veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Citation, Asiatic Pacific ribbon with three stars, Philippine Service Medal, UN Korean Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal with two stars. After his military service, John served as the Public Affairs Officer for the Norfolk Naval Supply Center.
