Conference Hotel Room rate reduction
In order to stimulate reservations in light of the Marine Corps' announced departure from our 2012 Conference, the Crowne Plaza Hotel has reduced the previously announced nightly rate from $131 to $114. CCHQ was advised by the Deputy Director of Information at HQMC July 3 that the Public Affairs Leadership Conference for 2012 in San Diego has been cancelled. We have also been advised by the Director of Public Affairs, Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) that their anticipated participation with the PA Leadership Conference has also been cancelled. San Diego Conference Goes Hawaiian

Each hotel CCHQ deals with charges for meeting rooms, the hospitality suite, and charges for setting up, tearing down, preparing for special events, etc. These are considered facilities charges. When CCHQ feels they have negotiated the best possible bottom line facilities price, we then ask the hotel for certain concessions. In most cases the hotels include food for certain events scheduled.
