Gunnery Sgt. Richard Leigh Ray, USMC (ret), 66, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013.
He was born in Seattle, Wash. to the late Thomas Bennette Ray, Jr. and Frances Nadine Roddewig Ray.
Mr. Ray served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War and The Siege of Beirut.

Brewer: PA Brigadier General dies
Brigadier General Margaret A. Brewer, USMC Retired, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the age of 82. BGen Brewer was the first female Marine to be promoted to the rank of general officer by General P.X. Kelly, 28th CMC. BGen Brewer was also the first Director of Public Affairs. The service will be tomorrow in Falls Church, Va. Details will be provided as soon as possible. Brewer retired from the Marine Corps on July 1, 1980.

Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Dies
Few of today's Marines will remember that former New York Times publisher Arthur Ochs "Punch" Sulzberger , who died Saturday at age 86, served in the Corps as an informational services officer in Korea, rising to the rank of captain before taking his discharge. Faas: Vietnam Combat Photographer passes
Faas, a Pulitzer Prize-winning combat photographer who carved out new standards for covering war with a camera and became one of the world's best-known photojournalists in nearly half a century with the AP, died Thursday in Munich, his family said. Ault: Vietnam Life member passes
He served in Vietnam as a combat correspondent with the 1st Marine Division and was involved in numerous major operations, including the liberation of Hue City during the 1968 Tet Offensive. His military honors include the Purple Heart and Navy Commendation Medal with combat V. He received an honorable discharge with the rank of sergeant.

Harmon: The Passing of "Gunny Jawn" life member
John died at the California Veterans Home, Barstow, CA on November 21. Though confined to a wheel chair in recent years, he was religious about his support of this Association as well as making it to conferences. This past September the Association recognized him with the President's Award for his strong support, both financially and vocally over the years. Brumfield: Photographer passes
MSgt. Richard “Dick” Brumfield passed away on 17 Sept. 2011. Dick was a veteran USMC photographer who had served in “many a clime and place”. After retirement Dick, among other things, helped film a video for ASK, a portrayal for kids dying of cancer. This year the video will be dedicated to “Brum”. Services were in Warsaw, Virginia and the family has asked that donations be made to ASK in “Brum’s” name.
