Nolen: CC passes

Everett Cecil Nolen, Ret. USMC, age 79, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton with Masonic and full military honors.Born in Delight, AR, Mr. Nolen was a graduate of Texarkana Texas High School. He retired from the United States Marine Corps after 34 years of service. Mr. Nolen was a member of Battle Hill Masonic Lodge, United States Marine Corps Combat Correspondents Association, Torrey Oaks Golf Club, Douglasville Hunting Club and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Zelda Nolen; daughter, Velda Nolen Pick and husband, David of Hammond, IN; son, Joel Nolen and wife, Lesa of Tyner, NC; sister, Ruby Currie and husband, Shelby of Poway, CA; stepbrother, Edwin C. Arnold and wife, Dixie of Fountain Valley, CA; grandson, Jody Nolen; nephew, Dean Arnold; mother-in-law, Ethel Mae Beasley of Fouke, AR and sister-in-law, Emma Jo Black and husband, Bearl of Fouke, AR. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:30am until 1:30pm at West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Rd. Marietta, GA 30064.
