Oral histories wanted at conference
Okay, Conference-goers. You've asked before about doing oral histories so we are going to accommodate you in New Orleans. Rob Taglianetti will be making a presentation on Tuesday but will remain at the conference through Friday morning. He especially wants to talk to some of you "grey beards" from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. So, take a memory pill and stand by.

2011 Guest of Honor confirmed
Lt. Gen. (s) Steven Hummer has been designated by the Commandant to be the Guest of Honor at the USMCCCA Annual Merit Awards Banquet on Thursday, September 15 at the Westin Hotel in New Orleans. Registration Fee Dropped from $115 to $100
CCHQ has announced that the registration fee for the New Orleans conference originally announced at $115 will be dropped to $100 effective immediately. Anyone who may have registered at the $115 fee should call or email CCHQ and request a refund.

If you use the link to the Westin Hotel to obtain your room for the 2011 Conference you may see a reference to $104 as the group hotel rate. This is incorrect. The rate is $98 . If you have already made your reservation at $104, the hotel will adjust this at check in.

Deadline: Rooms and Registration
All Hands: The final registration date for the 2010 Conference at Reno's Silver Legacy Hotel is Monday at 4 p.m. August 16 . Due to food guarantees we cannot extend the deadline any further. Last minute walkup registrations are discouraged . Also, because the room block we guaranteed runs out this Friday, August 6 if you have not made your hotel reservation you are in danger of not having a room at the guaranteed rate of $53 and in the Silver Legacy itself.

Silver Legacy Drops Rates
Because of the changing economic climate the Silver Legacy Hotel in Reno has advised CCHQ that it is dropping the nightly conference rate of $82 to $53. For those who have already reserved rooms the difference in price will be credited back to your credit cards either before the conference or at check-in.
