Two Florida based Marine Corps associations have joined forces to organize a group cruise for Marines, friends and family members. Florida Marine Mustangs and USMC Combat Correspondents are jointly sponsoring the seven day Eastern Caribbean cruise aboard the Carnival Liberty sailing Feb. 8, 2015 from Port Canaveral visiting San Juan, St. Maarten and Grand Turk. CCHQ received one of the best plaudits yet for the 2013 Journal, Sunday night. Bernice Stavisky , wife of the late Sam Stavisky , called raving about the suburb Journal she had received. Major Patrick "Graham" Coulter USMC (ret.). He has suffered a Hemorrhagic Stroke while working an awards ceremony in Washington DC. He was taken to Medstar Washington Hospital and is being treated. The event happened on Sept. 18, 2013. Let's hear a big shout for the members of the Ridgefield CT. Detachment of the Marine Corps League! They celebrated the 238th birthday of the Corps on Saturday, Nov. 9. The annual Ball adjourned about 2300 ( that's 11 p.m. civilian time). But the Detachment reconvened at 1800 (that's 6 p.m.) the next day, Sunday, Nov. 10, the honest-to-goodness birthday of the Corps, this time at the Detachment headquarters, also with an open bar and carving of a birthday cake. Update : CC Executive Director spoke directly with Jerie Coulter this morning, Wednesday, October 9. Pat was emceeing the Air Force Association meeting in Washington, DC and, as he finished his opening remarks and, as dinner was being served, he went back stage and collapsed. The Executive Director is always glad to hear from members, in this particular case, John Ames who not only paid his dues on time but added another $75 to help the ExDir purchase some "nerve tonic" to help him get over the ordeal of the July conference at Andrews. Recently retired Phil Mehringer , will soon take up his new post as a Veterans Outreach Coordinator in the Office of the Registrar at East Tennessee State University.
