Your Executive Director has tried every way he knows to keep members in the organization. Most recently he has emailed all members who have not renewed their membership since 2009. He does not have email addresses for the following but asks that if anyone is corresponding with them that they ask them to contact CCHQ. Retired MGySgt. Terrence J. Kearn s passed away at his home in Reno, NV January 7. A military funeral was held January 21 at the Fernley, NV Veterans Cemetery. Los Angeles Chapter stalwart Eddie Kafafian is shown with Admiral Mike Mullen , Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Mrs. Mullen during the 7th Annual Fernando Valley Veterans Day Parade in Studio City, CA. Kafafian was the 2009 Parade Grand Marshall and was invited to sit in the VIP section with the Admiral. During their conversation Eddie remarked that the Admiral's father, Jack Mullin, hired Eddie to work in an advertising agency in Los Angeles during the 1960s.

CC President Don O'Neal has announced the retirement of long-time USMCCCA Historian, Frank Burke , and the appointment of immediate past president, Fred "Flash" Lash , as his successor. While Frank is retiring he has agreed to remain Historian Emeritus. "As long as I can remember Frank has served as our historian," O'Neal said. " We are fortunate that he has chosen not to simply retire, but rather has elected to continue to serve the association as Historian Emeritus.

Three World War II veterans, including two former Marine combat correspondents, were among 300 attending a "reunion" at the National Press Club (NPC) in Washington on Oct. 21.
