Marrufo: CC GySgt. Benny Marrufo Passes

Retired GySgt. Benny Marrufo, 75, of Aurora, CO died January 1 of medical complications. Benny enlisted in 1953 and served as a combat correspondent in Vietnam in 1965-66 at the Danang Press Center and again in 1969-70 as a member of the Department of Defense MoPic Team. During his initial RVN tour he edited the Sea Tiger. He is survived by his wife Cathie Swanson-Marrufo and children David, Sonny, Kathy and Robert, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Following Marine retirement he had careers with KOA Radio Station and Lucent Technologies. The family has designated the USMCCCA Foundation's Scholarship Fund for memorials in lieu of flowers.
