1st COMMSTRAT Company conducts Change of Command ceremony

U.S. Marine Corps Maj. William J. Weyrauch relinquished command to Capt. Joshua S. Mossman during a change of command ceremony for 1st Communication Strategy and Operations Company, I Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, on Aug. 21, 2026.

Weyrauch, a native of Colorado, assumed command of 1st COMMSTRAT Company earlier this year following a CoC ceremony with Maj. Sarah D. Rhodes, a native of Florida.

The passing of the guidon signifies the formal transfer of authority and total responsibility from the outgoing commander to the incoming commander.
