Joseph Drewsen

Joseph Drewsen is a native of Redding, California, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2018 after establishing a career in the construction industry. Originally intending to serve as a Public Affairs Specialist, he was selected as a Combat Videographer, where he quickly developed a passion for visual communication and military storytelling.

Throughout his Marine Corps career, he has served at Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, the Defense Information School, and Marine Corps Recruiting Command. He currently serves as the Brand Awareness Chief at Marine Corps Recruiting Command, where he supports Marine Corps recruiting efforts through strategic communication, visual storytelling, and brand management.

Joseph is the fourth of nine children and resides near Quantico, Virginia, with his wife, Aly, and their two sons, Briar and Reed. As the only active-duty Marine currently serving on the USMCCCA Board of Directors, Joseph provides a unique perspective representing the current generation of Marine Corps communicators. He is committed to preserving the legacy of Marine Corps combat correspondents while advancing the association’s relevance, professional development, and support of Marines serving in today’s communication environment.
