The COMMSTRAT Legacy: From Storytellers to Global Influence
You are entering a field with a rich, gritty, and distinguished history. Long before the term "COMMSTRAT" existed, Marine Corps Combat Correspondents, Public Affairs Officers, and Combat Camera specialists were on the front lines.

From the grainy film of the Pacific Islands in World War II to the high definition digital assets coming out of today’s MEUs, our community has always lived by a simple truth: If it wasn't documented, it didn't happen. The transition to Communication Strategy and Operations represents the modern evolution of this mission. You aren’t just taking photos or writing releases; you are managing the narrative and countering misinformation in a complex information environment. It is an exciting, fast paced, and vital role within the MAGTF.
