For anyone who missed it, our 1stMarDiv Assn. Chapter online calendar has highlighted the anniversary of Operation Dewey Canyon, one of the more successful Ops in the Vietnam Conflict. The photo, attached, is by my longtime friend and Marine Combat Correspondent Bob Jordan. Bob now teaches at the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Maryland. – James “Red” Carpenter

Bob writes: This photo is probably the second most famous photo I took in Vietnam, which depicts a Navy corpsman and a Marine assisting a wounded Marine to the LZ for MEDEVAC after a long night of firefights and artillery barrages. It is now in the National Archives and in the Dewey Canyon exhibit of the National Marine Corps Museum.
